Once in a while some absolutely perfect compound is discov ered. This is one of them, and affords imple proof of the learning and wis dom of Dr. Harter. True modern meth ods of preparing it are used, it is now made in one of the first laboratories in the world, but in all essentials it is pre cisely tne same as vvnen iusl muue u.v Dr. Harter nearly half a century ago How many other remedies have grown in favor, or even survived , for that length of time? Dr. Harter's Iron Tonic is a wonder ful medicine. It is more than a tonic; it is a blood maker and life renewer. It stimulates the repair of the body and it supplies something to repair with. All building or healing of the body depends on an abundance of blood that is rich in iron. Nowhere, except in Dr. Harter's Iron Tonic, can you get the peculiar form of iron that is all ready to become part of you as soon as it is taken If you are not well and have not been well ior some time, irj mis lemeuj First will come better appetite, then better digestion, then better color and finally increased .activity of all the v tal organs and a new and wonderful sense of vigor and strength. MARRIAfiE AND DIVORCE THE NEW CANON UMDER DISCUSSION BY H0US-- OF DEPUTIES. THE MOST IMPORTANT CLAUSE i Not Acted Upon Durlue Yesterday's Session-Other Sections Discussed at lA'tiatli and Some Technical Amend- . meiits Mfjde-Great Interest In This Part ol the Proceedings Memorials From American Churches lu Europe as to K presemat Ion and Government San Francisco, October 10. The tiien- uial invention of the Episcopal cp.urcn . . i of America accomplished much routine work today, but made little progress to ward disposing of the canon on mar. riai for. riage ;md divorce, which came up be- a committee of the whole in the house of deputies. The poptmr inter- est in the subject was evidenced bv Fie 1 J. crowded galleries, a large majority of : j the spectators being women, nearly ali i X of whom remained until the hoi: r of adjournment. The discussion, however, was of a purely technical character. Quibbles over words and the punctua tion of sections, to which there was little opposition, took up much time. There seemed to be a determination to secure tec hnical correctness in the text It was also noticed that many lawyers in the lay delegation were taking a keen interest in the subject. The fourth and most important s" tion of the canon, which was adopted by the bishops, practically forbidding the marjiage of divorced persons, was not reached. The first two sections and all but the last paragraph of section throe were adopted with but one slight change the conjunction "nor" being stricken out. thus dividing the para graph into two complete, sentences. An attempt was made to consider the matter behind closed doors, but the at tempt failed. That the spirit of the Huntington amendment to the constitution permit ting modified forms of worship ftil! lives dispite defeat was shown by the petition in the house of deputies this morning for a constitutional amend ment couched in almost its exact lan guage. The principal change was the adoption of a resolution that no form of worship allowed shall be in conflict with the canons of the church. It was referred to a committee. Rev. H.
